There are many museums and attractions around Washington that are not part of the Smithsonian, for those wondering if some things are missing. Notable ones include the National Gallery of Art, the Newseum, the International Spy Museum, the Holocaust Museum, the National Botanic Gardens, and Arlington National Cemetery... all of which operate independently of the Smithsonian. All of which are good reasons why Washington is underrated as a tourist destination.

tough quiz! but if you are going to let typing "American Indian" give someone two answers why not accept African American? also you could think about accepting air and space at Dulles for the Udvar-Hazy center. or Modern art for the Hirschhorn gallery. or just leave it the way it is and keep it tough! ha ha

I've thought about all those things before. I can explain why I didn't do them, though you may disagree. I didn't accept African American for both museums with African in the title because one of those museums is about art from Africa, not art by African Americans. And the other is about the history and culture of African Americans, not of Africans. Different things. Air & Space I thought was so well known (as evinced by the fact that 100% have guessed it so far) that I wanted to leave Udvar-Hazy as a separate answer for those that knew about it. If they were the same answer then Udvar-Hazy would also be at 100% yet not many people know of it. The Hirschorn is a good idea, I think I will add some type-ins for it. Though there is also a Washington Museum of Modern Art which is not part of the Smithsonian... but not a big deal and you're right this quiz could stand to be a bit easier.

What about the S. Dillon Ripley Center? The Folklife Festival?

Good question about the Ripley Center. I got my list from the Smithsonian's own website and didn't see it before but now when I go there I can see info about it. Never heard of the festival, is that a permanent attraction?

The Folklife Festival is 2 weeks every summer. Definitely an attraction. Definitely not permanent.

Actually if you go to the website and look at the left column where they list all the museums and attraction the Ripley Center is not there, even though I found a page on it by googling. Not sure why. That's why I missed it.

Hey, Kalbaharnut,

Given that you take all of the quizzes, I wonder if you might take mine and tell me if it's any good. http://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/105705/all-or-nothing-1
