It does have one syllable. I've never heard anyone pronounce it with two syllables. It's "Skwurl" not "skwer-rull" It's certainly a mouthful but it's definitely a single syllable. It should at the very least be added as a variant pronunciation.

Our reference is dictionary.com, which specifies two syllables, namely squir-rel.
