Border City Wrestling, based in Windsor, Ontario, opened its doors in 1992, filling a void that had been left vacant along the Detroit River since "The Shiek" Ed Farhat closed Big Time Wrestling almost a decade prior. In the 30+ years since then, Border City Wrestling has become not only the dominant name in pro wrestling along the Detroit River, but a premiere destination for pro wrestlers across Canada and the mid-eastern United States. It's Can-Am wrestling school has produced wrestlers that have appeared in every major promotion in the world since then, including WWE, TNA, AEW, WCW, ECW, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and All Japan Pro Wrestling.
In that span of time, it's top prize has always been the BCW Can-Am Heavyweight Championship, and 24 different men have been able to lay claim to it. How many of them can you name? We'll give you ten minutes to list 'em.
Quiz will be updated sporadically, but at least once a year.
Alternate spellings may exist for some names that might be more difficult to spell. Wrestlers who appeared under alternate names and characters can be guessed with just one of those names and will appear under only one of those name. Guessing a wrestler once will fill in all of their reigns..
"Date Won" means the calendar date on which the wrestler won the title. "R#" corresponds to the cumulative reign number for that respective champion.
Vacant: On a number of occasions and for a variety of reasons, the Can-Am title has been vacated by its holder. The date relating to each vacancy is when the champion relinquished the belt.
The BCW championship was, for a time, a part of the Maximum Pro Wrestling triple crown of championships (along with the BSE and Neo-Spirit championships) this quiz tracks the lineage through that time period until the BCW title splintered off to itself again. One reign took place entirely within that unification, and is represented in red here.
