The True or False Race...

And so we find possibly 12 different quizmakers racing to make a true or false quiz. So far, excluding Quizmaster, Aaron197, NeilVedwan, and camus have gotten at least one feature from making these. Wait... let's back it up a bit.
What is it?
The so called "True or False Race" is occurring, but what is it? To answer that question, we need to first look down into the nature of small JetPunker minds. Let's use me for example...a feature would be amazing...the chance to be recognized and for my other quizzes to be taken. But even this immature desire can explain something - small JetPunkers want not to be popular but for our hard work to not be in vain.
If that means having to get a feature by continuing a quiz series, than so be it. So yes, the idea isn't original, but what actually is the race? Currently, a new series, true or false quizzes for countries and states has just been made. Some quizmakers who humbly decided to overtake some of these discovered that if your data is right and your questions are intriguing, it isn't hard to get a feature.
Why is it a race?
So here, the tricky JetPunk psychology once again comes into play. Those humble quizmakers reported their findings, and now people like me have also decided to overtake these. I have seen many different ones for these, and at least there haven't been multiple of the same version. The reason for the rush, is there are 196 countries of the world and 50 states. Narrow that down to half that you can get good information on. That might seem like a lot, but the JetPunk community is bigger than most people think now. If everyone on the site knew about this, all of the possible quizzes would be taken within days.
As it seems relatively easy to get featured, mostly small quizmakers are looking to make these as fast as possible to have even a chance to get featured. One of the first humble quizmakers, NeilVedwan received two features. Here is the one for Florida, here is the one for Spain. Now there are probably 25 of these taken, the number growing as we speak.
Thoughts/Participants/Links
Some big JetPunkers understandably disagree with this. Creative, unique thinkers don't want to follow the crowd. After all, they've already gotten many features. Although I can understand this point of view, I certainly think that for a small quizmaker like me it isn't too unreasonable. From afar, the number of these coming out at once can certainly look childish.
Pandora49 has certainly made a contribution with the New York one, even though it hasn't been featured (it definitely should).
We find ProximaCentauri in the same position for the South Korea one. This one should be featured in my opinion.
King Eureka and many others have also participated with a couple. Aaron197 has got many, a couple have been featured.
I have two that aren't featured (what a surprise *snorts*). The Washington one, the United Arab Emirates one
Well that's it. I hope you enjoyed reading about what some would call a foolish event. Please check out this series, as the quizzes are enjoyable if done right. I won't regret further publicizing this, as I will probably only make one or two more. Congratulations to anyone who gets featured off of this and becomes big!
I see what you are saying, but the reality is, a majority of the quizzes featured are these "easy features".
A lot of users(myself included) will see these "trendy series" and think that if they make one, it will boost their takes. Bu I respect the fact that you put your values over the quizzes itself.
However, only 3 user-made True or False quizzes have been featured, so I wouldn't really call it a 'race'. Many more have been made but only the most high-quality of them get featured.
I don't think that people should've continued Quizmaster's series.
Quizmaster has himself stated that users are free to continue any series that he has started.
> I just checked RUC and there were 12 T or F quizzes on the first page and 15 on the second page.
I don't see how is that bad in any sense. None of the quizzes are spam and whether you like them is subjective. The whole point of user-created quizzes is that users are able to make and publish their self-made quizzes on any topic they like.
I'm not a big fan of the "moral policing" going on over mere quizzes...
We featured this one about two weeks ago and it was positively received. Then I made a couple more, which people also seemed to like. After which I featured a couple user-created ones as well.
I probably will feature a handful more, but we'll only be choosing the best. The idea is obvious, so if there are two quizzes for the same country, we'll probably go with the best one rather than the first one.
1) Check all your facts on Wikipedia before submitting.
2) Make the questions easier. Include mostly questions that an average user can actually get correct without guessing.
3) If the question isn't easy, at least make it entertaining or educational.
4) Don't punish people for not knowing an exact number. For example, here's a BAD question. True/false: Florida has a population over 20 million. It's bad because Florida's population is only a little bit higher than 20 million.
5) Here's a better question. True/false: Florida has a higher population than Ireland. Since Florida's population is more than 4 times as high as Ireland's there's a clear right answer that people have a good chance of getting.
This is one of the biggest things I struggle with while making quizzes, as most of my questions turn out to be too tough or too easy.
I did one for fun about Nauru, a country I actually find really interesting (I'm not lying). Maybe I'll do two or three more, because it's actually funny to create.
It would be very interesting to have True or False Country Quiz in front page everyday, how it was with Country Quizzes, because these quizzes are very entertaining and instructive, but I'm not sure Quizmaster would agree with it...
It would be awesome to have daily featured Countries that Beat quizzes too...
