Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around
And desert you...
These are the most famous words to Rick Astley's 1987 hit song Never Gonna give you up. You may wonder, what's so special about this song? This blog will exactly tell you that. And it will be divided into 4 parts
- Introduction
- History
- How to Rickroll
- Perspectives and trend
Basicly, rickrolling is the art of tricking someone to clicking the hit song "Never gonna give you up" (which has over 870 million views on Youtube). Rickrolling isnt just the Original Video the art can also happen on Zoom meetings files, audios, etc.
The trend started in around 2008 when Rick himself appeared in the 2008 Macy's day Parade in the middle of the song! The trend rose up and is currently still popular, with youtubers and discord users doing it.
There are lots of ways to rickroll someone. There are websites like Cutt.ly and bit.ly. Of course you can send the Original Video but you can put alternative links, disguised links, the list goes on.
Although may be sneaky and against the guidlines, note that with the link HTML, its very easy to rickroll people but dont do it :)
Since the COVID-19 virus, rickrolls have become more popular and are progressing. Have you ever been rickrolled? How was it? Let me know in the comments!
