An average elevation of over 10,000 km? Even Mount Everest isn't that high!

Oops, fixed. I misread the units.

The units are reversed, it should be "over 10,000 ft / 3,000 m"

Hmm, okay. I tried to reword the clue so it's clear that a star filled in with the color blue is required. If you can think of better wording please let me know.

I wouldn't consider Israel or Egypt to be Mesopotamian. They are part of the fertile crescent, but mesopotamia is specifically the land in between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.

Also, what island countries does India border? India's "border" with Sri Lanka hasn't existed in a long time and is widely considered not to be a land border anymore (otherwise Sri Lanka wouldn't be an island nation).

Yes, that one was hard for me but around half of the maps (example) I found included them and I figured more people would be unhappy if I excluded them than if I included them as there would be greater consequences. I'm not sure about that one and I'm willing to change it if you can find a clear and reliable source.

The India-Sri Lanka border is highly controversial and I don't personally recognize it. However, as stated in caveat #1, borders are as of Countries by Borders in 90 Seconds, which I believe to be a good representation of JetPunk standards for borders. This one I only included similarly to how I use Cape Verde, East Timor, and Ivory Coast instead of Cabo Verde, Côte d'Ivoire, and Timor-Leste; it's JetPunk standard even if I disagree with it.

I question whether Spain borders an island country. Presumably, you have the U.K. in mind (via Gibraltar). I know that the U.K. generally is considered an island country, but but if you count Gibraltar, which is not an island but part of the European continent, then the U.K. wouldn't technically be an island country. The same might be said for India and Sri Lanka -- if there's a land border between India and Sri Lanka, then Sri Lanka shouldn't be considered an island country.

Then would Indonesia not be an island country because it borders Malaysia, and Brunei, East Timor, and Papua New Guinea follow suit?

My inclusion of Spain was a little controversial, but I figured that if you don't agree with it, there are other answers to find.
