Norway was indeed under Danish Domination under the Kalmar Union, but ultimately became the kingdom of Sweden-Norway until 1905.

Technically, Yugoslavia split into B&H, Croatia, North Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro, and Slovenia. If we're talking direct independence then Serbia and Montenegro shouldn't be answers (especially since Kosovo isn't an answer).

after the spanish-american war in 1898, cuba became part of the united states until 1902 and norway should also be an answer for denmark
