The Blog Games Season 2: Introduction

Welcome to the second season of the Blog Games! I know it is a little late, but it is fine as hopefully, it will be much better than the previous season. Of course, ChineseChen will be helping with the judging as normal, and a lot of new things as well. As last season was a bit of a hassle to finish in time, the times for the weeks will change. So, a week will span from Mondays at 12 AM EST/9 PM PST/5 AM UTC until Sundays at 11:59 PM EST/8:59 PM PST/4:59 AM UTC, and Blog Games blogs will be posted on Tuesdays at 4 PM EST/1 PM PST/9 PM UTC. Also, the last week of the season is currently undetermined, so it would be a good idea to start thinking of some ideas for blogs if you want to have a good chance of winning (no pressure). Some things will change, but hopefully, it will be for the better.

As of the date of writing, the rules are the same as the previous season. However, rules will be changed and added to spice up the season a bit. But now for the current rules:

1. Milestone blogs are mentioned but will not be graded on criteria

2. There is a season leaderboard that will be updated each week (point values are in Season 1, Week 3)

3. Users that are in the Top 5 two (2) weeks in a row will be on cooldown for the next week, where they cannot be in the Top 5 but still can win awards and Honorable Mentions

4. Blogs that tie in score will be the same rank

5. Only the first two blogs a user releases each week are graded, but only if they are in separate series

We expect that this will be the largest difference between Seasons 1 and 2. We will be including the opinions of a guest judge every other week (starting with Week 2). The week before a guest judge appearance, we will include a Google Form in the blog or comments. If you would like to be a guest judge for the coming week, please fill out that application form and a random entry will be drawn. The deadline for the application form will be Thursday at 11:59 PM EST/8:59 PM PST/4:59 AM UTC (Friday). The chosen judge will be added to a Blog Games group and on Monday (the day before the week's release), we will send them a form with the week's blogs in it to rate.

So, as this blog comes to a close, and the new season of the Blog Games officially starts, there are a few new things that need to be noted. First, there are a few helpful links down below linking to pages or blogs that help you get better at understanding the formatting of blogs, and more things to help you become a better blogger. It just feels like it's needed to make new blogs and bloggers a little more experienced. Next, if you have ANY questions or anything else, you can ask below in the comments section. The time that blogs will be accepted for Week 1 is from Monday, November 15th to Sunday, November 21st. The Week 1 blog will come out on Tuesday, November 23rd.
