Introduction
Before I start saying anything, I just wanna mention that I've always wondered what it's like if you have true happiness upon yourselves. What's it really like? That's why I'm here right now, to give my honest opinions.
1. The Two Types
In my opinion, there are two types of happiness. The short lived, and then the eternal. Based on these words meanings, it's pretty obvious what the difference is. But, there's a whole different side to this that took me a long time to realize.
Say you're going to get ice cream, or you're receiving gifts for your birthday, or you're on vacation..you get the point. All three activities may seem so different, that they're actually really similar. That similarity is that these activities are temporary, or short-lived. What this means is that you may be experiencing those three activities with utter joy in your body, but it's going to stop sooner or later. When it does stop, we think we've received our ultimate happiness by receiving all these things. However. the secret is that money can't buy everything. You may have all the money in the world, but it doesn't compare to simple human qualities such as love, compassion, and etc.
The other type of happiness is the eternal bliss. It's very difficult to achieve this state, but not impossible. The thing you wanna do here is that, instead of focusing all your life on money, focus on all the things you already have. Because, even I, myself, receive so many things, but just end up wanting more. How do we stop that more, you ask? By being thankful and grateful for the things we already have. For example, some people don't have feet, or arms. Let's be thankful we have those. Or some people don't have roofs over their heads. Imagine what it could be like if they have to be outside during thunderstorms, snowstorms, hailstorms, and etc?
Another tip for this is to not depend on statistics (don't think you're forced to do this, it's just my opinion). This is just me, but if you read statistics on how happy people really are, then it might just force you to do things you actually don't want too (if that makes sense).
2. Do What You Love (Be Yourself)
Another problem with this world is that people are being forced to do things they don't really want too. I know so many children whose parents wanted them to be doctors or lawyers or engineers. But if you're doing a job that doesn't make you happy, then what's the point in studying for it, or even going that way? It might seem hard at first, but sticking with your gut and telling yourself what you want to do as a career or what you want your decision to be is the best decision you can ever make. Now, it's obviously different for children. Parents have to guide them to the correct path in order to make those right decisions. But as the children turn into young adults, the children should start making more of their own decisions. Because...and this is the truth....only you know what you want to do. No one can decide your career, no one can decide the way they want you to live your own life. You're the judge of that, and the way to do that correctly, is making your own decisions...and you're one step closer to achieving happiness. Just be yourself, because your body needs you to be you for you, and not for anybody else.
3. Showing The Human Qualities
Ok, so if you can show the human qualities (what I like to call what I'm about to describe) people around you are going to start being more happy, which can make you happier. Some examples of these 'human qualities' are:
1. Compassion
2. Humility
3. Love
4, Tolerance
5. Whole-heartedness
I promise, just try to show these, and you're going to see a huge change. You'll be happier with life, and you'll just accept things the way they are.
4. Accepting Your Life, Accepting This World
This is a pretty broad sub-topic, and it's quite related to Number 1. However, you just have to accept what your life is. This is because there are things no one can change, and we just have to ultimately let them go. The number one way of accepting the way things are is by letting go of the past. What's been done in the past is done; you can't change it in anyway. If you start thinking of the past, that is actually a monumental preventer in letting you be happy. If you think of the past, you're going to start worrying about the things that have already happened. And when that happens, it just gets to your head.
Another problem with the acceptance of this life of yours is to make your problems positive, or meaningful. What I mean by this is that if you make a mistake or have a problem, don't think about how it will affect you or make your current state worse. Think about how it can benefit you, Think about how this mistake is good, and how 'that mistake' has been done for a purpose
Another helpful thing to accept this world is to think to yourself that you were born. There are more than 7.9 billion humans on this earth. You're one of them. That's a pretty big achievement right there
The last part of accepting this world is to be proud of where you're from. I don't know how many people I've met that are embarrassed of where they're from. But you know what? Don't be sad. Your country needs you to represent it, even if there are things that it can fix. Your country can't fix those problems itself. It needs your help.
5. Ending Racism, Spreading Unity
Another broad one. This is one of the biggest problems in the history of this world. So what if people have a different skin color? What gives you the right to think that you're more superior to them. There are so many black people that aren't happy due to things such as racism, and it isn't right. What matters is what's on the inside. We all have blood that flows through our veins, so what really is the difference? But that's not it. Your body may be made of bones, but it's also made of those human qualities. And that's what your body needs you for. It needs you to represent yourself. It needs you to show how kindness and compassion are connected with your happiness.
Regardless of all that, you may also be thinking of the outcome of this. That is a very good question. You see, the result will come by itself. If you show those qualities in you, then those qualities will start emerging from you, and just become an everyday thing.
Quotes
These are a few quotes I found extremely inspiring, and I hope you find them so too.
1. Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort. - George Sand
2. Happiness is not the absence of problems, it's the ability to deal with them. - Steve Maraboli
3. The secret of happiness if freedom, the secret to freedom is courage. - Carrie Jones
4. Nobody really cares if you're miserable, so you might as well be happy. - Cynthia Nelms
5. Happiness often sneaks through the door you never knew you left open. - John Barrymore
The Conclusion
In the end, there are many ways to be truly happy. The one thing to remember is that your happiness shouldn't be fully dependent on receiving things such as PS5's or Xbox's, but should also be dependent on giving things such as your own happiness, and your own display of the human qualities. I hope you learned from this blog, I'll see you in the next one, and once again, thank you for reading! :)
