USA Centric - Common Place Names #2 - No Townships

These are the most common place names in the USA, according to http://citypopulation.de/, not counting townships.
It's harder than I thought it would be. Don't be discouraged if you don't get many.
The categories include:
  • State
  • Region - Counties, Parishes, and Census Areas
  • Local - Cities, Towns, Boroughs, Villages, Precincts, and Unorganized Territories.
  • Neighborhoods within cities are not included.
Because some states have dozens of townships with the same names, this quiz excludes them.
Unique names are counted separately. That means that Whoville, West Whoville, Whoville Heights, and Whoville Upper Falls don't count as the same name.

Interesting quiz. I got 45. Biggest facepalm for me was Franklin. Most obscure get was Princeton - only guessed by 5% of quiz takers, surprised more didn't get that one. I picked up Centerville probably because I grew up in one, but I see them all over. Even in my state I think there were at least 3 or 4 maybe more, though most of them were spelled Centreville so I'm not sure if that counts or not.

Surprised so many place names I thought of don't occur at least 13 times in the country. Seems like this data is incomplete. I thought of so many while taking the quiz but right now one that springs to mind is Piedmont. I'm sure part of this is that unique names are counted separately but also I might be thinking of place names that are not counted. ... like... the name of my parents' gated community Piedmont Vista would be disqualified on both grounds. But it's also the name of one of the three regions of Virginia- just Piedmont.
