Nice quiz! You may want to specify you are after countries with the highest summits, not the highest average height.

Um? is this measured from the sea or from the center of the earth? if from the center of the earth, Colombia should be on there.

Colombia is ranked 6th for South America, with a highest point being 18,701 ft. (5,700 m).

This is obviously from sea level, the standard way to measure elevations. Distance from the center of the earth is an interesting curiosity, but it's almost never used for altitude measurements.

Getting into the details of this is fun. For instance, the eastern Mediterranean's water surface is lower than that of the western part because it's hotter there - more evaporation. And the center of the Earth is no better reference since the Earth is actually not a perfect sphere, and not even a perfect ellipsoid that bulges in the middle...

I believe it is still - with all it's asymmetricities, bulges and flattened poles - a more perfect sphere than any ball bearing we are able to manufacture.

Lumi, there are technologies to make extremely round spheres. The roundest object in the world is so round that if it were the size of the Earth, the elevation difference would be about 14 meters apart. In case you're wondering, it cost millions of dollars. Maybe you can find the exact price on the internet.

Not quite a prodigy, not quite a PhD yet, 1st try, 2min left on the clock. However, always been a geography nerd and perhaps somewhat aspergerish. No but really this was quite easy, although I had to guess Ethiopia, Uganda, Congo, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Vanuatu and Solomon Islands. My wrong guesses were Rwanda, Morocco, Colombia, Indonesia (the Eastern parts are usually considered part of Oceania) and some pacific island nations.

You can't do this. Only the results from the first finished try are taken into account for the statistics you see. :)

Just a suggestion: since Nepal is known as the home of Mount Everest, perhaps it should be atop the Asian list? Placing China there while having questions about Nepal being the country with the highest elevation on other quizzes seems somewhat incongruous.

Pedantically speaking, Guatemala, Mexico and Costa Rica are in Central America.
