That was fun and different and quite easy. Only struggled with the love hearts, no idea why the answer? Also for lamp I first tried 40. Because of Ali Baba, wrong tale.

Agree with the three wishes. Furthermore, ironically, Aladdin was not part of the original 1001 nights...

Aladdin set in China not "Arabia" anyway, as JetPunk keeps reminding us
+2
Level 75
May 17, 2019
I think Aladdin was a Chinese character but the story wasn't set in China - it was set in a 'far away land' from China

Edit: ok, after scanning through the Wiki page, it looks like the actually setting for the story isn't really given - it seems to begin in China, and Aladdin is Chinese, but then elements in the story are more consistent with a Middle Eastern setting, and the bad guy is from North Africa

It's a story from the frame-tale collection called "Arabian Nights" (or 1001 nights).
+5
Level 75
Jun 25, 2019
It isn't one of the original tales in 1001 Nights but that's clearly what the clue is alluding to.

Yep, I also tried 3 (wishes) and 40 (thieves) and 1001 seems a bit of a stretch.

The candy hearts answer is because they are generally associated with Valentines Day
+2

Which would be 214, or just 2. Why the day and not the month? I got it by accident guessing 143 (I love you).

I guess because then there will be the discussion "why 214 and not 142" like in a lot of countries outside of the US.

Why not just the day? That seemed the obvious answer.

yea 214 is meaningless (and it would be 142...) if two numbers were asked ok 14 and 2. but twohunderdandfourteen, has nothing to do with it.

Why 18 for the truck? I was counting wheels and got to 10...
+5
Level 72
May 17, 2019
Because all wheels but the front ones are in pairs. There are two on each side of the truck. 4x4 + 2 in the front = 18. Check this picture out for a somewhat clear view: https://www.i45truckaccidents.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Truck%20Accidents%20in%20Pearland%20Texas%201687.jpg.jpg

A few of these I still don't get, the LP and the Battery?

The Jason one threw me until I saw the answer. The Love hearts I wouldn't have got. I knew what the bones and Piano keys were looking for but didn't know the answers. I also went with three wishes for the lamp.

Great quiz! But I would recommend changing the magic lamp. If you would ask someone, what number is the magic lamp know for, almost all people would say 3 because of three wishes. I did get 1001 though, but since the lantern is so known for the number 3 that would be a better choice. (it is different than like the record, it is not KNOWN for the number 33)

Good thing you said "almost" all people, because 3 wishes never occurred to me until I saw it mentioned here several times. My first thought was, indeed, 1001.

Yeah, because who likes a strong economy, great trade practices, low unemployment, increased wages, and a better standing amongst the world? I can see why you would want to forget that. I didn't even vote for Trump, but you cannot argue with his track record and the fact the Democrats have absolutely no one that can stand against him in 2020.

This was super fun. Tested multiple thoughts. Like for the lamp i tried 3 first because of wishes and when that didn't work my brain went into overdrive until i landed on 1001. For the white house i tried 45 (number of presidents) then I stared counting down since we've only had 44 different presidents, and the white house wasn't built yet for the first couple. Took a few minutes to land on 1600. Great quiz. Lots of fun.

I'll put in another vote for "3 wishes" for the magic lamp picture, as I'm sure a good many -- possibly even most -- people nowadays are more familiar with the story of Aladdin from the Disney version and other adaptations than they are with any version from 1001 Arabian Nights (which, as other have pointed out, Aladdin was not even originally a part of.)

For those of us who use the metric system (i.e. most of the world), 6 should be acceptable for the Snellen chart.
