While I'm taking this quiz, the word "Mersey Side" came to my head. While I see the rest of answers, the word "Frankfurt am Main" came, too late, to my head.

I'm a girl of the '60s so thank you, Gerry Marsden, for helping me with Mersey.

I got Main because of the name Frankfurt am Main, but I didn't know Mersey (but I've heard of Merseyside)

I didn't get Marne!?! *facepalm*
Level 75

Same for me, only without the face-palm. I'm too ignorant to fully appreciate just how ignorant you have to be for that to be completely unfamiliar. Hence, no sense of, "I should have known that!"

How did 40% of people know the Mersey (never even remotely heard of it) and only 20% know the Marne, one of the biggest battles in WWI? Are that many people from the UK???
Level 77

See above comments - Gerry and the Pacemakers had a huge hit in the 1960s with their song, "Ferry Cross the Mersey". The older generation likely boosted those numbers.

I typed Malmo, but I got it wrong because I can't type umlauts.
Level 62
Mar 20, 2019
What? Umlauts shouldn't affect the answers, for instance Mänchëstër would work for Manchester.
Level 45
May 30, 2019
Grammar doesn’t matter on Jetpunk, for instance, in stead of typing Sáo Tomé and Pricipé, saotome will work.
Level 66

you probably typed molma or some other spelling error. 99.9999 % will all have typed malmo, nobody got time for umlauts ;)
